Description

LOUIS VUITTON Tambour Twenty Chronograph 20th Anniversary Automatic watch. ref. Q1121, Nº DE81XX, for men/Unisex. Circular stainless steel case. Brown dial with Arabic numerals. Luminescent baton hands. The central seconds/chronograph hand and marker hands, highlighted in yellow, a reference to the thread used by the house in its leather goods. Auxiliary window between 4 and 5 o'clock for date calendar. Sapphire crystal. Faceted crown at 3 o'clock, flanked by the chrono pushers. Monogram canvas motifs engraved on the case back. The brand name surrounds the case coinciding with the hour markers. Steel link armis with hidden deployant clasp. Automatic movement. It works. Measurements: 41.5 mm (case diameter); 50 x 45 mm (total case). The first Tambour watch, launched in 2002, was a GMT. Being a company - founded in 1854 - that gained its fame from travel trunks, it made sense to start the collection with a travel watch. It came with a glossy brown dial that didn't go unnoticed, and a mustard yellow GMT hand and matching 24-hour scale. The color scheme of the 39.5 mm Tambour GMT (ref. Q11310) was a nod to the brand's iconic Monogram design, created by Louis Vuitton's son in 1896. The design of the Tambour was entrusted to a Parisian design studio (BBDC - Berra Blanquer Design). The result was a unique and unprecedented case shape that effectively resembled a drum. Its unusual flared profile, wider at the base than at the top, included a broad surface, the perfect canvas for engraving the 12 letters of the name "Louis Vuitton", aligned with the hour markers on the dial. It's a defining feature of the product and one that has carried through to this Tambour Twenty Chronograph 20th Anniversary we see today. In the description of the watches when it is noted "in running condition" it means the watch is running. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and that is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
