A RARE NEGORO LACQUER NETSUKE OF A HUNTER A RARE NEGORO LACQUER NETSUKE OF A HUNTER Unsigned Japan, 19 th century Carved standing, leaning slightly forwards, wearing voluminous robes and a straw hat falling over the shoulders, holding a matchlock gun in both hands. The netsuke is covered in negoro lacquer with gilt accents. The back with two asymmetrical himotoshi. The base is shaped like a dome, so that when placed upright, the figure sways gently from side to side, evoking the motion of a roly-poly toy. HEIGHT 3.6 cm Condition: Good condition with some expected wear.
