A BOXWOOD NETSUKE OF A KABUTO A BOXWOOD NETSUKE OF A KABUTO Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) The wood netsuke in the shape of a kabuto helmet with finely carved details, the rounded bowl with ridges and surmounted by a tehen kanamono made from bone, with its front decoration (mae-date) carved as an Oni and with side protections (Fuki-gayeshi). Two small himotoshi on the underside. WIDTH 4.1 cm Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and few small age cracks. Provenance: Collection Gabor Orszagh, Budapest, Hungary.
