A LOT WITH FOUR METAL KOZUKA A LOT WITH FOUR METAL KOZUKA Japan, 19 th century, Edo period (1615-1868) The first a half-shibuichi, half-suaka (refined copper) kozuka bearing a framed rattan-pattern ground and worked in takabori with gold accents, depicting butterflies and flowers. The second a suaka (refined copper) kozuka worked with gold and shakudo takazogan and katakiribori, depicting a figure kneeling beside a stream and beneath a willow tree. The third a shibuichi kozuka with a fine nanako ground, worked in takabori with gold highlights, depicting a scroll. The fourth, a mix-metal kozuka worked in takabori and takazogan on both sides, depicting Omori Hikoshichi carrying a demon disguised as a maiden across the river. LENGTH each 9.7 cm WEIGHT total 93.8 g Condition: Good condition with some wear, signs of weathering, and few small dents. Two kozuka with malachite encrustations.
