The reverse in shibuichi and signed MASAYUKI. HEIGHT 9.4 cm WEIGHT 30 g Condition: Good condition with wear and tarnishing. Momijigari (‘Maple Viewing’) is a Japanese play written by Kanze Nobumitsu during the Muromachi period. The story goes, once a beautiful noblewoman visited Togakushi-yama with her retinue for the seasonal maple-leaf viewing. During the banquet, the noblewoman invites a local warrior named Taira no Koremochi to drink feast with them, but curses the man in his drunken stupor never to awake from his dreams. In his dreams, it is revealed to Koremochi that the woman is in fact a demon and he slays her.
