A WAKIZASHI IN SHIRASAYA, EDO A WAKIZASHI IN SHIRASAYA, EDO Japan, Edo period (1615-1868) Shinogi-zukuri with iori mune, the hamon is notare in nioi-deki, the hada is mokume. The habaki is of copper decorated with a pattern reminiscent of ripples in water. The nakago with one mekugi-ana, the tip is kiri, the yasurime is kesho-yasuri. NAGASA 47.2 cm, LENGTH 67 cm (the shirasaya) Condition: The blade in good condition with some wear, minor fukure, and one minuscule chip to the ha (edge). Provenance: Hungarian private collection.
