AN IMARI PORCELAIN BOTTLE VASE AN IMARI PORCELAIN BOTTLE VASE By the Zoshuntei shop, signed Zoshuntei Nishiune zu Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) The bottle with a globular body supported on a short, splayed foot, surmounted by a long, waisted neck with everted rim, painted in bright enamels and gilt with two larger reserves depicting a lady and gentleman, and two smaller reserves at the neck with landscapes, backed by a myriad of birds including cockerels, phoenix, and peacocks. The recessed base signed ZOSHUNTEI NISHIUNE zu (蔵春亭 西畝造 ) (made by Zoshuntei Nishiune). HEIGHT 28.2 cm WEIGHT 877 g Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, rubbing to the gilt, and firing flaws including dark spots.
