The ingot-shaped pillow with a broad slightly concaved top, covered overall in finely crackled, splashed glazes of amber, green, and straw, the top with a stylized floral pattern, the foot covered with a brown wash and pierced with four small apertures. Provenance: The Jiyuanshanfang Collection. Currently housed on New York’s Upper East Side and originally founded upon an old family collection, a comprehensive catalog of the Jiyuanshanfang collection titled “Song Ceramics: The Eight Kiln Groups” was published in 2008 with a foreword written by Li Zhiyan, Research Fellow at the Beijing Palace Museum.
