CHEVILLARD (Jacques). MANUSCRITTED MURAL PANEL entitled "Généalogie de la Maison de Larcher et ses alliances". November 1716. Paper on canvas, size 2.14x2.93m, with 2 wooden rods attached to the top and bottom margins to give it hold and allow it to be rolled up. Spectacular document illustrated with painted coats of arms, including a genealogical pennon and family tree of the Larcher family, accompanied by family trees of the main allied families, Barillon, Gilbert de Voisins, Mangot, Mérault, Phélypeaux. Also included are members of illustrious families such as the LaRochefoucaulds and Colberts. Historiographer of France and genealogist to the King, Jacques Chevillard was also a draughtsman, engraver, publisher and print merchant.
