Jacob Schiff Typed Letter Signed Banker, businessman, and philanthropist (1847-1920) who helped finance the expansion of American railroads and the Japanese military efforts against Tsarist Russia in the Russo-Japanese War. TLS, one page, 5 x 8.5, Kuhn, Loeb & Co. letterhead, April 22, 1912. Letter to S. J. Woolf, in full: "I have received, at my residence, the picture I have purchased from you, which gives me much pleasure and has already been admired by a number of friends, who have visited me and to whom I have shown it." Attractively cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 22 x 21.25. In fine condition, with some fading to the signature.
