Oil on copper. Coeval frame in carved and gilded wood. Pendant lot of the previous one. Notes In European child portraiture of this phase, the characters of clothing included the use of the robe with a wide skirt, indiscriminately, until about age five, for boys and girls. The bonnet and the presence two bands of fabric sewn posteriorly to the robe, used to teach children to walk, suggest an age within two years. The inclusion of the doggie represents an extremely common element of the period.
