Description

Sitting Bull [Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake] (c.1831-1890) and One Bull [Tȟatȟáŋka Waŋžíla] (c.1853-1947), their two cut-out signatures on paper (one sheet), each signed in ink, 10.2 cm x 12.5 cm. One Bull (or Lone Bull, later known as Henry Oscar One Bull), was the nephew and adopted son of Sitting Bull, the Hunkpapa Lakota leader who led his people during years of resistance against United States government policies, with both playing roles at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876. Sitting Bull later worked as a performer with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and was killed by Indian agency police during an attempt to arrest him. From the estate of the late Franz-Peter Bach, a German autograph collector of many years. He began collecting in the 1980s, from following music tours in Germany, as well as attending swap meets in Hanover, where as well as exchanging autographs, he was given addresses of celebrities, who he would then write to directly for signatures. His collection was meticulously collated, mostly in albums, and added to over many years. Authenticated prior to the sale by Adam Andrusier. Collated in a presentation album by Mr Bach, with tipped in photograph on opposing page. Following the sale, the autograph(s) will be removed and paired with the photograph, ready for collection / shipping.
