OPERA - PUCCINI Giacomo (1858 - 1924) - Autograph letter signed Autograph letter signed, dated “Milano 2. 12 [1922]” of the Italian composer. Addressed to Luigi Volpi: “…Ti mando un sacco di belle speranze per l’anno nuovo che poi si realizzeranno e vedrai che non ti passerà minga mal. Avrai banchetti e discorsi da fare e tante altre cose ancor più interessanti e belle…”. Luigi Volpi, from Lucca, was a long-time friend and correspondent of the Maestro. In 1922, Puccini spent the Christmas period in Milan, attending in person the performances of Pizzetti's 'Deborah and Jaele' on 23 December and his 'Manon Lescaut' on the 26th, also at La Scala. 1 p.
