Opera (France, circa 1880-1885) Opera (France, circa 1880-1885). A large carved and painted wooden décor, framed on the front, outside dimensions: 50 x 51 cm; stage curtain. Behind, the theater proper is in two parts: the first fixed, the second made of shutters that fold in and out. A backdrop mounted on two wide wooden strips; other backdrops can be attached to this one. The set includes a removable double-sided backdrop and eight intermediate decorative elements. Six small, dressed string puppets with wooden heads and limbs. French parlor puppet theater. Exceptional condition.
