[BROGI Augusto] (1847 - 1917) [BROGI Augusto] (1847 - 1917) OPERA - [BROGI Augusto] (1847 - 1917) - Lot of 17 photographs Lot of 17 photographs (5 cabinet-card of an actor (a young Brogi?) in stage costumes and 12 cabinet-card photographs with autograph dedication signed to Brogi) of different operatic singers such as Aristido Triarchi, Gregorio Tschestakowsky, Arturo Gairabetoff, F. Nobile, L. Ponci, G. Moretto, Giacomo Luchin and the Spanish politician Pedro Muchada (1835 - 1911). Two other cabinet-card photographs with autograph dedication in Russian are included. He began his artistic activity as a baritone in the 1871-72 season. After more than fifteen years into his career, he decided to switch to the tenor repertoire, treading the boards for another fifteen years. In addition to his operatic career, Augusto Brogi was also a popular singing teacher and a committed popularizer of Italian opera. He helped found a bel canto school in Florence. His vast repertoire included 70 operas with famous parts by Verdi, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti and Bizet among his favorites. He never recorded records. Sculptor Pompeo Coppini would create his funeral monument. - This item is under temporary import.
