OPERA - BAKLANOFF Georges (1880 - 1938) - Photographic portrait on postcard with autograph dedication signed Photographic portrait on postcard with autograph dedication signed, dated “Wien 1913” by the Russian operatic baritone. In 1910 he began performing with important opera houses internationally, and became a member of both the Boston Opera Company (1910–1915) and the Vienna State Opera (1912–1914). From 1917 to 1928 he was the leading baritone in Chicago and in 1928–1929 he was a member of the Philadelphia Civic Opera Company. Photograph distributed by Hermann Leiser in Berlin. Opera (France, circa 1880-1885) Opera (France, circa 1880-1885). A large carved and painted wooden décor, framed on the front, outside dimensions: 50 x 51 cm; stage curtain. Behind, the theater proper is in two parts: the first fixed, the second made of shutters that fold in and out. A backdrop mounted on two wide wooden strips; other backdrops can be attached to this one. The set includes a removable double-sided backdrop and eight intermediate decorative elements. Six small, dressed string puppets with wooden heads and limbs. French parlor puppet theater. Exceptional condition.
