HISTORY - SAVOY Maria Pia of (1847 - 1911) - Letter signed Letter signed "Rainha", dated Palacio d'Ajuda January 26, 1865, addressed to Cardinal Luigi Vanicelli Casoni (1801-1877), in response to the wishes for the "Festividade do Santissimo Natal". Maria Pia was Queen of Portugal. Not yet fifteen, she was engaged to King Louis I of Portugal, who ascended to the throne at the age of 23 in 1861, and she married him by proxy on September 27, 1862, and in person on October 6. 1 page, in-4. Manuscript address and wax stamp under paper on the 4th. Some cuts do not compromise the readability of the text. - This item is under temporary import.
