HISTORY - PRUSSIA Frederick William II of (1744 - 1797) - Autograph letter signed Autograph letter signed, dated “Potsdam, le 27 Septembre 1795” by the King of Prussia (1786-1797). As a defensive reaction to the French Revolution, Frederick William II ended the German Dualism between Prussia and Austria. As a skilled cellist he enjoyed the dedication of various cello-centric compositions by composers Mozart, Haydn, Boccherini, and Beethoven. He was also responsible for some of the most notable architecture in Prussia, including the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Marble Palace, and Orangery in the New Garden, Potsdam. Addressed to the chamberlain of Baron d’Aubier in Berlin: “…D’après les renseignements que mon ministre d’État à vous m’a fournis au sujet de votre demadne, il n’est point décidé encore que le S. l’Hôte air renoncé à l’établissement que je lui avais accordé dans l’Oderbruch….”. 1 p.
