HISTORY - ITALY Umberto II King of (1904 - 1983) - Autograph line and signed Autograph line and signature on partly printed greetings card, dated “Cascais Settembre 1954” by the last King of Italy. Umberto's reign lasted for 34 days, from 9 May 1946 until his formal deposition on 12 June 1946. Due to his short reign, he was nicknamed the May King (Italian: “Re di maggio”). 1 p. Guglielmo Pugi (Italian sculptor, c. 1850 Fiesole - c. 1915, active in Florence) Pierrot making music Alabaster. Signed; Sculpture created around 1900 by the renowned sculptor, whose works include a bust of the Italian King Umberto I. Together with his sons, he ran a flourishing workshop, and in 1901 and 1904 he exhibited at the world exhibitions in Buffalo and St. Louis. Many of his sculptures are exhibited in the Alabaster Museum in Volterra. H. 39.5 cm. Alabaster. Signed "Pugi".
