MEDICINE - GOLGI Camillo (1843 - 1926) - Typed letter signed Typed letter signed, dated “Pavia, li 8 Giugno 1905” by the Italian biologist and pathologist known for his works on the central nervous system. His discovery of a staining technique called black reaction in 1873 was a major breakthrough in neuroscience. Golgi and the Spanish biologist Santiago Ramón y Cajal were jointly given the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1906 "in recognition of their work on the structure of the nervous system”. Addressed to the head of the “Ufficio del Genio Civile” in Pavia, concerning some renovation work in the Mineralogy Cabinet and the archives of the Rectorate: “…mi permetto rivolgerLe la preghiera di volermi dire quando sarà possibile por mano ai lavori di cui nelle lettere sopraaccennate…”. 1 p.
