D’ANNUNZIO Gabriele (1863-1938) D’ANNUNZIO Gabriele (1863-1938) LITERATURE - D’ANNUNZIO Gabriele (1863-1938) - Autograph letter signed Autograph letter signed 'Gabriel', dated '29.12.1896', by the Italian poet. Addressed to Marchese Pietro Lanza di Ajeta. It is worth remembering that this tragedy was composed by d'Annunzio in Italian in the second half of 1896 and then translated into French by George Hérelle who, however - at the Poet's request - did not appear as translator so as not to negatively influence the Parisian public. The printed work appeared in 1898 in Italian and French and the first performance in French was held in Paris on 21.1.98 at the Théâtre de la Renaissance, performed by Sarah Bernhardt. In Italy it was performed by Eleonora Duse's company on 21 March 1901 at the Teatro Lirico in Milan. 7 pp. In-8°. Envelope with autograph address included. - This Item is currently in Finland and can be shipped within the European Community with NO import tax and VAT. UK deliveries will be subject to 5% import VAT
