LITERATURE - CAPOTE Truman (1924 - 1984) - Autograph letter signed Autograph letter signed “Your Boswell”, undated [From Paros, Greece] by the American novelist, screenwriter, playwright, and actor. Capote earned the most fame with In Cold Blood (1966), a journalistic work about the murder of a Kansas farm family in their home. Capote spent six years writing the book, aided by his lifelong friend Harper Lee, who wrote To Kill a Mockingbird (1960). Addressed the American New York Post columnist Leonard Lyons (1906 - 1976) [who notes “Truman Capote” in his handwriting notify the sender]: “…Am settled here for several months. Heaven. Just sea and sun and earthly bed. 10 hours by boat from Athens…”. ½ p. On postcard. At the verso: photograph of a glimpse of Paros. - This item is under temporary import.
