MECHANICAL carpet, BOUKHARA decor (France), mid-20th century Dimensions : 310 x 224cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A burgundy field hosts five columns of fourteen Tekké gühls, interspersed with cruciform secondary gühls. A wide border with small flamboyant multicolored medallions, flanked by four kotchak counter-borders and chevron highlights. Two vegetal "elems" (reserves) crown the ensemble. Beautiful rendering of a "Bukhara" carpet.
