Powder horn - India, 19th century - In the shape of a dragon with a curved, conically tapering serpent's body, the head about to devour a sheep's head, with a small plug in its mouth. Ivory panels riveted with brass nails, probably over a wooden body. 14 x 18 cm. - Signs of age, discoloration, horns of the sheep's head missing, one scale and jaw of the sheep's head replaced, without eyelets. - Cf. a similar powder flask in the Saarbrücken Adventure Museum from the 18th century - Due to the current regulations, a sale can only take place within the European Community, the required EC marketing certificate (CITES) is available.
