Description
Large hall cabinet - Southern Germany, Lake Constance region, last third of the 18th century - On carved feet, cranked base, the two-door body with beveled corners, pilasters with carved capitals on the sides and corners, the projecting, stepped cornice strongly profiled; inlaid on all sides with ribbon work and diamond marquetry, the doors each with three panels. Walnut and other domestic hardwoods veneered, brass fittings, brass lock with openwork lock plate. 220 x 204 x 72 cm. - Minor traces of age. - Provenance: from a private collection in Lower Franconia.
