Museum cabinet - Augsburg, E. 16th century - Body with front and lid flap, inside tabernacle compartment with removable insert and three secret compartments, surrounded by eight small drawers; fine marquetry with architectural elements and large hunting scene on the inside flap, framed by drapery with dense leaf and flower interlacing, the outer sides ornamentally framed with rectangular panels, the front and the inside of the lid with songbirds sitting on branches, two movable handles. Softwood, walnut veneer, maple, ash and other native hardwoods, some stained; original iron fittings with key. 46 x 58 x 32 cm. - Cf. F.
