Art Nouveau table lamp with clematis - Emile Gallé, Nancy - 1st third of the 20th century - Round disc base merging into a club-shaped shaft with recessed shoulder and short neck, mounted on three curved brass arms supporting the mushroom-shaped, pointed lampshade; highly etched, partly polished entwining clematis decoration. Clear glass, slightly opalescent, underlaid and overlaid with light yellow and dark purple. Base and shade marked "Gallé". H. approx. 56 cm. - One arm slightly bent. - Cf. lit. A.
