Description
Sauer, Karlheinz - Small design vase - (born Pforzheim 1943) Designed and manufactured by Karlheinz Sauer, Västerås, 1977. Cylindrical bowl with a flared rim over a conical base; fine hammered decoration. Silver. With state stamp, fineness "925", artist's mark on the underside. H. 13 cm; 170 g. - Sauer attended the goldsmith school in Pforzheim between 1958 and 1961. From 1962 to 1965 he attended the art and work school (art department) in Pforzheim and moved to Sweden the following year, first to Växjö and soon to Östersund. In 1968 he moved to Kyrkbacken in Västerås, where he set up his own business with a forge and a gallery. He ran the business in Västerås for 40 years. In 2011 he moved to Mörbylånga on Öland, where he still lives and works in "Blå Kulan, gallery and silversmith".
