Small, baroque lidded tankard - Augsburg, c. 1649-53 - Marx Merzenbach (mstr. c. 1642-88). Globular body over a round foot, rocaille handle, hinged lid with turret finial and two-part foliate finial; wall decorated with large, chased Baroque flowers. Silver with partial gilding. At the bottom inspection mark, master's mark "MB" and tremolier mark. H. 9 cm; 240 g. - Seling 1517.
