Magnificent chandelier with twelve flames - Meissen, 20th century - After the design by Johann Joachim Kaendler, 1762, for the New Palace in Potsdam, commissioned by Frederick II of Prussia. - Two-zone structure on a baluster shaft, in the lower area a large, bulging cul-de-lamp in the style of Baroque incense lamps with a partly lattice-like openwork body and a suspended bas-de-lustre consisting of a large flower arrangement, inserted eight chandelier arms formed from two opposing C-shaped rocailles with leaf-like spouts and eaves bowls, hanging from the arms are eight "pendeloquen" of flower bundles, corresponding to the upper level, but with only four chandelier arms and smaller "pendeloquen", between them are four ladies playing music with their instruments or singing on the shaft. singing, canaries sit on three arms. Porcelain with polychrome painting and gold decoration. Several parts with underglaze blue sword mark, model number "79045". H. approx. 150 cm, Ø approx. 90 cm. - Without recognizable defects.
