Hunting ivory tankard with silver mount - Probably Erbach and Schwäbisch Gmünd, ca. 1880-1900 - Oval-cylindrical body carved in relief with scenes of a wild boar hunt, the handle with a carved dog and the lid crowned with a wild boar and dog in combat; lid and foot ring mounted and with chased hunting decoration and palmette finial. Silver with remnants of gilding. Marked, tremolier line. H. 22.5 cm. - Very finely executed work, presumably by an Erbach ivory carver. - Due to the current regulations, a sale can only take place within the European Community, the required EC marketing certificate (CITES) is available.
