Ambrotype with the portrait of a lady - 2nd half of the 19th century - Verso inscribed as "Anna Jorre, geb. Thörl / 5.8.1852 - 1.8.1915 / verh. m. Ernst Heinr. Ernst Heinr. Jorre / 12.8.1840 - 1917 / Hbg.". Visible dimensions 15 x 11 cm, in passepartout and under glass in brass frame, overall approx. 27.5 x 23 cm (oval). - The ambrotype is a photographic direct positive process, produced using the wet collodion process, which was used between 1852 and 1890 and was primarily used as an inexpensive replacement for the daguerreotype.
