Closed approx. 9 x 12.5 x 1.5 cm; unfolded approx. 10 x 12.5 x 10 cm. - This stereo daguerreotype was taken on a plate. It was made in the studio of Kilburn (William Edward Kilburn, 1818-1891), whose patent details are embossed in the leather. Such stereo photographs with a viewer built into the case are extremely rare. When the lenses are folded out, flaps covered with the same leather unfold on the sides, which are locked in place and prevent light from entering. - The picture is a little dark and has some scratches.
