Leaf from a liturgical manuscript - 1st half of the 17th century - King David playing the harp, framed by a wide ornamental border, verso in decorative, oval scrollwork cartouche inscription with date "Prima pars Dnicatis ... Ex decreto Sacrosancti Concilij Tridentini restitu Anno 1626". Gouache/parchment. Visible dimensions 44.4 x 31.2 cm; matted and mounted under glass - Partly stained, some folds. - Probably the title of a Graduale, Missale or Breviarium Romanum.

Beautiful and interesting manuscript of [4] blank pages (one of which bears a graphite drawing of a bouquet of roses), 104 pp. neatly written in brown ink, illustrated with 19 fine astronomical figures drawn in ink and watercolor, 1 fold-out plate out of text with diagrams of the system of the distance of the heavens from the center of the Earth and of the system of the circumference of each sky drawn on both sides and 1 fold-out handwritten table, pp. 105 to 116 blank (but paginated in ink). Handwritten bookplate from Grainville Hospital.
