BARBIER Michel (1931-2005) UGO Hélène (atelier) - Earthenware hand candlestick forming a lamp base illustrated with two African masks incised with a stylus. White earthenware with yellow and black glazing typical of the workshop. Signed under the base MBARBIER, stamped Hélène Ugo and located in Vallauris. H. 20 cm. Not electrically mounted. Michel Barbier worked in various Vallauris workshops, including those of Jean Derval and Gustave Reynaud, before moving to Haute-Savoie.
