FEDERICO CORREA (1924-2020) & ALFONSO MILÁ (1924-2009). For Polinax. Pair of table lamps "Bach".1971. Chromed metal. Measurements: 67 x 45 x 45 cm.; 33 cm. base. Table lamps of the Bach series. Mdelo designed in 1970 by the couple of architects Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá. Originally produced by Polinax, it went on to be edited by Gres in the eighties and later by Santa&Cole. Piece of classic lines and modern concept, it is characterized by the contrast of its materials. The structure is made of chromed steel, with a large square base from which emerge two plates joined by two rectangular pieces through which the electric cable runs. A large, slightly conical circular shade adds warmth to the structure. The tandem of Catalan architects Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá, both born in 1924, were one of the most outstanding references of the Modern Movement in the second half of the 20th century. Correa and Milá followed the slogan that interior and industrial design were part of the same architectural project. Collaborators of José Antonio Coderch, they founded their own studio in 1953. Architecture of summer houses in Cadaqués, institutional and residential buildings, sports stadiums, factories and offices, interior design for the legendary restaurants FlashFlash or Il Giardinetto and singular and iconic design pieces to equip their own works and for furniture companies such as Gres.

Gérald Minkoff (1937-2009) was a trained anthropologist and biologist. Both achieved fame as artists, and from their meeting in 1967, the emblematic couple of contemporary art became inseparable. The travel-loving Olesen-Minkoff duo explored life like curious nomads, roaming the globe from Africa to Asia, Oceania, America and Patagonia. As artists and experienced collectors of contemporary art, they understandably had a keen sensitivity to the aesthetics and concepts of non-European art. The couple's Geneva apartment, perhaps their most beautiful joint work, thus became a place where the works of close friends such as Daniel Spoerri, Arman and Man Ray, as well as their own photographs, lived together with almost a thousand objects from Africa, Oceania, Asia and South America. MIGUEL MILÁ (Barcelona, 1931) for Polinax WT suspension lamp. 1962 Red methacrylate. Delta de Plata ADI-FAD Award 1962. Measurements: 20 cm x 45 cm x 45 cm. Suspension lamp designed in 1962 by Miguel Milá and produced by the firm Polinax. It is characterized by its large and unique two-color lampshade with sinuous curves made of injected methacrylate, cream-colored on the outside and cream white inside. The bulb holder is anchored to a piece also made of methacrylate in the shape of a cross, which in turn is attached to a polished steel cylinder through which the cable runs. With this design Miguel Milá once again demonstrates his ability to imagine new lighting concepts based on simple and logical forms of great functionality and aesthetic beauty. Miguel Milá began his studies at the School of Architecture, although he soon abandoned them to work in the office of Federico Correa and Alfonso Milà. In 1958 he set up his own business as an industrial and interior designer. In the early sixties he witnessed the birth of Spanish industrial design, and throughout his long career he has been awarded the ADI FAD Delta de Oro prize six times, the first time in 1961, for the "TMC" lamp. He was also awarded the National Design Award in 1987, the Sant Jordi Cross in 1993, and in 2010 the CoNCA National Culture Award.

Measurements: 38 x 105 x 69,5 cm. One of the first pieces of furniture designed by Miguel Milá and published by Gres in 1962, although the first prototype dates from 1960. The rectangular tempered and beveled glass top is supported by a metal structure composed of four legs of chromed iron plates attached to a thin black iron stretcher frame. This table is characterized by its lightness and transparency, as it responds to a request from Milá's brother for a coffee table that would not limit the view of the carpet.
