PETER LØVIG NIELSEN (Denmark, 1929-2007). Coffee table, 1960s. Teak wood. In very good condition. Measurements: 41 x 150 x 45 cm. This table responds to the functional and minimalist aesthetics of Peter Løvig Nielsen, as well as the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. It is raised on bambi legs, characteristic of Scandinavian furniture, joined two by two by means of chambranes. The long sides of the tabletop have a wooden slat placed perpendicularly that adds volume, elegance and distinction to the piece. Peter Løvig Nielsen trained as a cabinetmaker before studying furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He began his career as in the 1950s, and quickly gained recognition for his innovative designs. His furniture was characterized by clean lines, simplicity and functionality, and he often used natural materials such as wood and leather. His most iconic creations are the "Tulip" chair, the "Model 66" chair and the "Safari" chair.
