The fine repoussé top with two bands of characters divided by blossoms and surmounted by a lotus bud finial, the side with a chain and attached toggle, and with wood handle. A SILVERED PRAYER WHEEL SHAPED AS A PAGODA, c. 1880 A SILVERED PRAYER WHEEL SHAPED AS A PAGODA, c. 1880 Tibet, Lahsa, Potala palace. The cylindrical mill, containing a fabric prayer roll, sits in a hexagonal pavilion finely worked in repoussé and chased with lotus petals, auspicious emblems, and lotus scroll design, the roof is further decorated with the mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hum' and a bird perched on each of the six corners. The mill can be turned using the central pin protruding from the top of the roof. Condition: Very good condition with expected wear as well as small nicks and imperfections.
