Contemporary green suede half-binding, basane title-piece on spine. Spine showing traces of wear, and a small trace of wetness at the bottom of the spine. Good condition inside. Very precise regulations governing the operation of military hospitals. Uncommon book.

Nr. 34 Bromberg 1901/03", inscription Reservist Stark, on the front "34."-shoulder piece and regimental flag above military trophies, without name bands, high pewter lid with head portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm II between cannon barrels, crowned by a seated reservist holding a beer mug, the handle in the shape of a Prussian eagle, good condition, h max. 30 cm.

In-4 long-grained red morocco, smooth spine decorated with gilt fleur-de-lis and fleurons, compartmentalized by gilt fillets and roulettes, gilt title, gilt fillet and very fine gilt framing lace with fleur-de-lis spandrels, gilt vine garland on the chasses, light blue tabis lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding). Endpapers browned, a few small brown spots. A superb copy.

Black basane title-piece in the center of the 1st plate. Collection of 45 Indian ink sketches, sometimes enhanced with watercolor, by a student at the Royal Military Academy (+ 1 watercolor-enhanced map). The drawings are signed by the student and countersigned on the back by the teacher-inspector. Most are located at La Cambre (Brussels), home of the Royal Military School in the last quarter of the 19th century. The drawings are as fresh as ever.
