Moscow, Aleksey Maklakov, 1890. Russian Orthodox icon of Christ Pantocrator overlaid with a chased and repousse silver-gilt riza. Hallmarks: 84 Russian silver standard, Moscow city mark, maker's mark 'AMM' for Aleksey Maklakov. Dimensions: 10 3/4 x 8 3/4 in., (28 x 22 cm.) The icon appears to be in good condition overall. Some rubbing to gilding, signs of wear consistent with age. Chip to the Gospel.

The figure of the Saint is hand-painted on a wood panel, the oklad is hand-engraved with detailed patterns, the halo is adorned with cloisonne enamel and set with turquoise cabochons. Comes with a fitted wooden case. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard, assay mark with Cyrillic initials V.P. under the date 1883, George the Victorious for Moscow, maker's mark "I.C." Dimensions: 6 1/8 x 2 1/4 in., (15.5 x 5.7 cm.) Excellent.
