A large porcelain charger by Maltsev with a superbly detailed gilt Imperial Eagle, showing even the individual barbs of each feather. The rim has been gilt with a similar level of mastery, with intricate, flourishing gilt filigree encompassing the entire rim, set within concentric circles of gilt trim. Imperial Russia - CA. 1890 Dimensions: D: 5 1/4 in., (38.5 cm.) Very good condition.

The shallow plate painted in underglaze blue with a mountain and river landscape, depicting a shore with two figures below three large pines, a walled pavilion and two sailing boats, the rim framed by an elaborate floral and ruyi shaped border. Condition: With minor wear, light surface scratches and manufacturing flaws including pitting and dark spots. The upper rim with chips, a crack and a hairline, and repairs stabilized with staples. The charger with shallow rounded sides and everted rim, supported on a short foot, finely painted in underglaze blue with a central medallion enclosing a peach sprig framed by a lappet border and encircled by leafy vines of peonies and lotus, the rim with a band of crashing waves. The exterior with further sprays of auspicious flowers and the base unglazed. Provenance: British private collection. Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and firing flaws including dark spots.
