Description

A small Greek oil container, similar to a lekythos, with a single high-rising handle and narrow spout for pouring. The body is pear-shaped with a narrow neck and rests on a flat-bottomed foot. The body has various decorative elements, painted on with white and brown coloring. Ancient Greece - 300 BC. Provenance: Private Collection, NYC. Dimensions: H: 7 1/2 in., ( 19 cm.) Very good overall. Paint fading and chipping in places. See photos for reference.
