German States Saxony Helmet for Officers in the Guards Horsemen Regiment 1910 Dresden, the helmet skull of particularly light tombac gilding, complete with all fittings. Large silver-plated helmet star with gilded coat of arms, domed gilded chinscales on cloverleaves and screws, both cockades. Version with inserted high fluted service spike. Brown sweat leather interior with light-coloured silk lining, damaged. The front peak lined with dark green leather, the neck peak lined with light green velvet. Size 56, worn. The helmet for the Saxon heavy cavalry was modelled on the Prussian cuirassier helmets and introduced in 1876. The same helmet was also worn by the Saxon Carabinier Regiment (2nd Heavy Regiment).; Condition-II (HW4)
