Second edition of this rare work, in which the scientific treatise is included in comparison to the first edition of 1799. - Browned due to paper, some dampstaining in the lower inner margin, a little (foxing) stained. A well-preserved copy overall, the copper engravings are full throughout. This work is taxed. Wilhelm Rudolph, Sitzender Schäferhund Sitting shepherd dog with raised ears, woodcut in grey on strong Japanese paper, around 1940, signed "W. Rudolph" in pencil below the image on the right and inscribed "Handdruck" on the left, remains of old mounting on the reverse and slightly browned in the upper area, image dimensions approx. 25 x 16 cm. Artist information: actually Friedrich Wilhelm Rudolph, German painter, draughtsman and woodcutter.
