Straw inlay commemorating the Battle of Domokos in 1897 maximum footprint cm. 43x33. As part of the Greco-Turkish War, near the Greek village of Domokos on May 17, 1897 the Greek army of Prince Constantine and the Turkish army led by General Edhem Pasha, which eventually won the battle, clashed. Also fighting in the ranks of the Greek army was a brigade of Italian volunteers "garibaldini" led by Ricciotti Garibaldi, son of Giuseppe and Anita.
