Spine cracked, rubbed. Second printing of the first French translation (from English by Demeunier) of this work in which the author, a Dutch traveler and merchant, relates the history of the trading posts he established in Bengal on behalf of England. It serves as a sequel to Raynal's "Histoire philosophique et politique des établissements et du commerce des européens dans les deux Indes". It is illustrated with 2 frontispieces by Eisen and a large folding map of Bengal. Numerous old dampstains.
