Large crater vase Salviati Murano 2nd half 20th century, signed and remains of an old adhesive label, colourless glass mould-blown, green and blue underlay, ring decoration melted into the interlayer, wide swinging rim, normal signs of use and age, in need of cleaning, h 30.5 cm.

Salviati & Co was founded in 1859 in Murano (Italy) by Dr. Antonio Salviati, Enrico Podio and Lorenzo Radi. In 1883, the company was acquired by the Barovier family, but continued under the name Salviati & Co. After Antonio Salviati's death in 1890, the company was taken over by Amalia Salviati Ivanich and Salviati's two sons, Giulio Salviati and Silvio Salviati. The company's leading designers include Dino Martens (1894-1970), Luciano Gaspari (1913-2007), Romano Chirivi (1931-), Renzo Camerino and Sergio Asti (1926-2021).
