A GILT AND SHAKUDO KOZUKA DEPICTING TWO CARPENTERS AT WORK A GILT AND SHAKUDO KOZUKA DEPICTING TWO CARPENTERS AT WORK Unsigned Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) The rectangular shakudo frame finely worked on a nanako (ring punched) ground in gold, silver, and shakudo takazogan with two carpenters working on a length section of wood with their tools. The sides and reverse are gilt and chiseled with nekogaki (‘cat scratches’). LENGTH 9.7 cm WEIGHT 28.7 g Condition: Good condition with minor wear.
