Sassanid silver footed bowl with eagle and stag, 3rd-7th century BC. Silver. In good condition, inlaid with reddish cuprite. Provenance: English private collection, 1979/ J. Bagot Archaeological Gallery, Spain, 2015; Exhibited: Museo Colección Ifergan, Málaga (2018-2020); Feriarte, IFEMA (Madrid, 12-20 November 2022). Measurements: 14.5 cm diam, 5.5 cm high. Sasanian silver bowl decorated with a standing eagle facing left hunting a deer. The Sassanid goldsmithery was marvelous, delicate and very select, for the finest offerings and rituals. These silver bowls could be used for great events, as offerings or as trousseaus.
