OKO: A FINE LACQUERED PANEL WITH A SHORESIDE PAVILION OKO: A FINE LACQUERED PANEL WITH A SHORESIDE PAVILION By Oko, signed Oko Japan, 19 th century Finely lacquered, depicting a Pavilion by the shoreside, the water finely detailed with small waves and a single rock, the beach smooth with sand, the stilted pavilion covered by a thatched roof beneath a single pine tree surrounded by susuki (plume grass) and wildflowers. Signed to the lower right-hand corner OKO. Set in a large wood frame, with a silk passepartout, and behing glass. Condition: Presenting very well, small losses, light soiling, and a restoration to a tear along the upper right corner.
